Presently, the biggest project under implementation is the City Segment of the Grand Canal. The municipal committee and the municipal government pay great attention to this project and definitely put forward the construction standard of the project could not be lower than that of Pudong, Shanghai. 

The Jinghang Great Canal is also names the north-to-south Great Canal with total length 1794 kilometers which is the longest canal in the world. It has a long history of more than 2400 years. And it is provided with the most canal culture of China. Tongzhou is the north start point of the Great Canal. The river bank has been expanded from 80 meters to 200 meters. The scenery of the river sides has been completed. Five bridges will be built over the Great Canal within the 4.6 kilometers.

The first period is 15.8 square kilometers which is divided into seven functional areas. These seven functional areas will enter into the land exchange market by the end of year 2006 to year 2007. Investors can obtain the use right by means of inviting public bidding, auction or hanging license.
